1 Kings 17:12 “And she said As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die”
David, had several of these attacks as well but he showed us the way out:
Psalms 42:5 “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again-my Savior and”
Psalms 42:6 “!my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you- even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar.” (NLT)
The major manifestation of this demonic attack is sorrow. When you start feeling discouraged and hopeless, you start feeling sad and downcast. Once you notice this, the spirit of discouragement is after you so simply brace up and burst into praise!
Praise must never depart from your abode no matter what. No wonder Apostle Paul said:
Ephesians 5:20 “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”
A man that the spirit of hopelessness will find difficult to subdue is a joyful man. The foundation of every demonic attack and victory over man is sorrow, don’t ever let the enemy push you into that zone.
The end game of this spirit is death and in most cases suicide. This poor widow was already suicidal. What she was telling Elijah is what can be considered as a “suicide note.”
1 Kings 17:12 “…that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die”
Glory be to God, Elijah appeared and shred the suicide note. I pray for you today: Every spirit of discouragement and hopelessness sent against you are neutralized now in Jesus name.
The Lord, will show up for you and turn your situation around for good in Jesus name. Hold on, the Lord is turning that “end” into a “bend”. Your miracles will happen now in Jesus name!
