1 Kings 17:12 “And she said As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die”

…From yesterday…

Friend, deliver yourself from every hopeless thought. Learn to partner with God daily. As human beings, at one point or the other in the journey of life, the devil will unleash this spirit against us in one way or the other. But the onus is on you and I to resist him and put him under control.

What do you think happened in this encounter?

Luke 22:42 “Saying Father, if thou be willing remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done”

Luke 22:44 “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

It will interest you to know that it was Jesus the verse above was talking about. He also came face to face with the assault of the spirit of discouragement and hopelessness but he held on till the very end. For a man to pray to the point of sweating blood, you know it was a serious battle.

He was confronted with the same demonic operation that scattered his creation in Genesis 1:1. The devil showed up again to scatter and put an end to an almost completed work of salvation, but out of that darkness came the finished work of salvation, hallelujah.

The devil played the same card severally against the children of Israel in the wilderness and eventually all of them save Joshua and Caleb didn’t make it to the Promised Land.

David, had several of these attacks as well but he showed us the way out:

Psalms 42:5 “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again-my Savior and”
