NO CAKE

NO CAKE
1Kings 17:11 “And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.”

1Kings 17:12 “And she said As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die”

Finally, Prophet Elijah opened up to the woman; he asked for bread. What baffled me however, was the answer of the widow. Elijah asked for bread and she said she doesn’t have cake but a “handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse.”

Hear me friend, God does not start a man with finished products, he gives him raw materials for miracles. What this woman failed to realize was that what she has is enough!

Whatever you currently have is a raw material that can produce whatever you desire. All you need is the ability to convert it to a finished product. Hear this:

2Kings 4:2 “And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.”

This encounter is similar to that of Elijah and the widow. This second widow had the same challenge as well, she has a raw material at home yet she was wallowing in poverty and debt.

Beloved, I want you to take stock of your raw materials. There is something in your hand that cannot just translate into your cake but can also make cake for others as well.

Stop seeing things with a limited vision, go beyond local to global. Make up your mind to do the work so that your little can become much. That widow didn’t add anything to her flour and oil, what she had was enough.

You may not have cake but God has already given you what can produce it, change your disposition towards your raw materials.

Love you BiG
