1 Kings 17:10 “So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink”
1 Kings 17:11 “And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.”
1 Kings 17:12 “And she said As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die”
The challenge that God has with many people is the fact that he is not granted access to every compartment of their lives. Many people have sacred, secluded and “touch not” areas in their lives.
Let me give you this wisdom, each time something is mentioned and your mind react or rebel against it that is your sacred area! Many people claim to love God and pray that He has unhindered access to their lives, but keeps Him out of their sacred areas.
Like this widow, many people’s sacred zone is their food, stomach, money and so on. The challenge of many believers is that they cannot part with their resources. Hear David:
2 Samuel 24:24 “And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a PRICE: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth COST ME NOTHING. So David BOUGHT the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.” (Emphasis mine)
Many of us ask for the wealth of Abraham, David, Solomon and others but have you ever considered how they entered into their wealthy places?
Abraham fell so much in love with Isaac and he couldn’t have access to certain things. He developed Isaac into an idol of some sort and that became his sacred zone.
