Nehemiah 4:14 “And I looked and rose up and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”

Nehemiah and his brethren were not carrying the weapons for decoration, they knew how to use them well. In our focal scripture, he addressed his people and asked them to fight back.

Beloved, if you don’t know how to fight and engage in spiritual warfare, the enemy will cheat you. Hear this:

2 Corinthians 10:4 “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”

We have weapons and those weapons are meant to be used. A soldier doesn’t carry a gun he’s not ready to use. So, a believer that doesn’t know how to go on the offensive is a joker.

Hear Nehemiah again; “…fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”

The reason why many believers lose the above mentioned people is simply because they didn’t fight. Don’t ever lose something and feel it’s because you didn’t pray enough.

In 2 Corinthians 10:4, we saw that we have weapons but not only that, they are not carnal. In order words they are not physical weapons but they can wreak havoc to the kingdom of darkness. When Jesus took his disciples to the place of prayer shortly before his arrest, they slept off only for them to wake up and saw they were surrounded and Peter quickly drew the sword and sliced off the ear of one of the assailant.

He wanted using physical weapons in a spiritual battle. Friend, do what Nehemiah advised; fight for every area of your life. Fight for your family, kindred, and even your house.

Develop a fighting spirit. Deploy the weapon of prayer, fasting, praise, the Communion, declaration of the word and other spiritual ordinances. We are soldiers, so master the use of your weapons and release them constantly against the enemy.

Are you losing your home, family, brethren and house to sickness, poverty, frustration, quarrel, depression, financial challenges and so on? Don’t sulk, get on your knees and FIGHT!
