Nehemiah 4:11 “And our adversaries said They shall not know neither see till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease”
Remember always that the devil is not joking, he is looking for who to slay so that he cause the work to cease. He knows that God sent us here on assignment to destroy his work, so if he succeeds in stopping us, the work will automatically stop.
1John 3:8 “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
The devil knows the purpose of our coming to this world is to destroy everything he is doing, and I can assure you that he will not sit back and watch without a fight. The onus is therefore on us to know how to start the work, continue and finish it.
Since the devil knows our mission, he decided to respond as well. Jesus told us his response in a clear language:
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill and to destroy I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
The devil’s response is therefore to steal from us, kill and destroy as well. Nehemiah knew this so well and therefore didn’t give the enemy room to stop him. When they sent for him, he refused to leave the place of his assignment.
Policemen that are deployed to guard a “Position A” will not leave their duty post just because they are hearing noise in “Position B”. They face their assignment. They don’t leave their duty post because they knew that noise could be a distraction to trick them away from their designated position.
Nehemiah continued his work even though they sent for him five times. Friend, the enemy tricks people away from their place of assignment by distracting them in order to slay them, therefore; stay at your duty post.
Protection, preservation and provision are always at your duty post!
