THE SANBALLAT SPIRIT-1
Nehemiah 4:1 “But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth and took great indignation and mocked the Jews.”

One thing you must be prepared for in your quest to fulfil a divine mandate is the attack from the enemy. It doesn’t matter who you are they will show up.

As long as what you do matters to God and the kingdom, you will have opposition. The irony of it all is that some of these oppositions will come from the people you think will support you. Sanballat was supposed to be a leader who should support the assignment but unfortunately he was the chief opposer.

Friend, you must be prepared for this spirit and know how to respond appropriately. You will notice that Nehemiah wasn’t caught off guard; he was not discouraged nor perplex because he knew opposition will arise.

Sanballat is not just a man, he is a spirit. It will interest you to know that the Hebrew word translated Sanballat means “enemy in secret”. It is a spirit that gets angry when you want to do something for God. It is a taunting demon that castigates and discourages.

Sometimes it might not come physically to you, it will just be a whisper in your heart. Have you ever wanted going to church or giving a seed and suddenly you just feel discouraged such that you change your mind? Most times you’ll just discover you have no cogent reason.

The truth is this; you didn’t just stop or changed your mind, you actually listened to an invisible enemy. The “sanballat spirit” is still in operation and if you don’t know how to deal with it, you will be stopped.

If you study the operation of Sanballat carefully, you will be able to recognize his activities around you. This spirit has a modus operandi and a working knowledge of this will help you to identify and quickly stop him.
