THE EAST GATE-3
Nehemiah 3:29 “After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.”

…From yesterday…

It is believed that at the appearance of Jesus he will touch down upon mount Olives. Zechariah told us this in his writing:

Zechariah 14:4 “And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.”

So, it is believed that when the Saviour eventually comes, he will come in through the east gate and that gate constantly stands as a reminder of his return.

However, have you noticed that the return of the Lord is no longer a very popular message in our days? Many people assume that it is an old gospel. But, I’m glad to let you know that he is coming back.

Hebrews 10:37 “For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come and will not tarry”

It is not an outdated sermon, it is a spiritual reality. Friend, Jesus is coming back and the same gate that talks about the miraculous talks about His return! Don’t be too comfortable with the gift as to forget the giver. Don’t be too carried away by the affairs of this life that his coming doesn’t seem real again.

He is sure coming back for the chosen. Rapture is still in vogue and we must not lose sight of it. However Jesus is not just coming back, there is a reward stored up for everyone that is awaiting his return:

2 Timothy 4:8 “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Don’t ever let the seeming delay deceive you. His appearing is certain, fixed and uncontestable. Get set and live prepared!
