THE EAST GATE-1
Nehemiah 3:29 “After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.”
Next comes the east gate. This is a powerful gate that we all must constantly enter through as well. It is strategically located and it represents two key things.
It represents miracles and also the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Some notable miracles occurred in the Bible especially for the children of Israel and one thing that kept coming up is the word “east wind”.
Exodus 10:13 “And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.”
God used the east wind to bring in locust during the plagues of Egypt. This wind from the east caused so much disruption in Egypt that they had no choice but to bow to the superiority of the Living God of Israel.
It was a servant of the Lord that the enemy had no solution to, when God released it against the enemy but for the children of God it was a different matter altogether.
Exodus 14:21 “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided”
Psalms 78:25 “Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.”
Psalms 78:26 “He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.”
Psalms 78:27 “He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:”
The same east wind that devastated Egypt was used by God to create a path for the children of Israel through the mighty Red Sea and also to bring in quails or meat for them.
This wind actually run errands for God. This gate is one of massive importance in the Christian journey. It is the gate for the miraculous.
