THE HORSE GATE-1

THE HORSE GATE-1
Nehemiah 3: 28 “From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.”

Immediately after the water gate comes the horse gate. This is another gate every believer that want to remain relevant in the affairs of the Kingdom must constantly pass through.

Scripturally, the horse represents two main things, strength and warfare.

Psalms 147:10 “He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.”

Proverbs 21:31 “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.”

No believer will last in the race of life and destiny without a combination of these two elements. Even in our contemporary times, we measure the capacity of cars and engines in “horse power”.

Even though the horse represents power, we know that our true strength actually comes from the Lord. We are only strong when we are in Him:

Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

Spiritual activities like fasting, praying, singing praises, walking by faith, hearing and meditating on the word of God are all designed and tailored towards strengthening us spiritually. Speaking in tongues especially is one activity that actually builds our spiritual muscles:

Jude 1:20 “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,”

Also, take note as a believer that we are soldiers. We are not building our muscles for decoration, we build them for warfare; spiritual warfare. That was why Paul admonished us thus:

Ephesians 5:11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Ephesians 5:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 5:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”
