Nehemiah 3:1 “Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.”

Nehemiah 3:2 “And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.”

There is nothing you want to achieve on earth that will be significant without involving others. John Maxwell said, “One is too small a number to achieve greatness”.

Nehemiah knew the task at hand was great so he solicited for the help of others. A critical study of Nehemiah 3 shows the way he engaged others in fulfilling the assignment. He knows those men not just by name but by their gifts and he deployed them accordingly.

When Jesus himself was here on earth, even though he was God, he didn’t go about his assignment alone. The first thing he did was to pray and then choose his twelve disciples. He was simply showing us the power of team work. When you engage others you give yourself latitude to succeed.

Nehemiah did something very interesting, he worked with everybody’s strength and uniqueness. He made sure everyone was well motivated to put in their very best and also take personal responsibility for their tasks.

The rhythm and harmony that was created made the job easier for everyone and brought about outstanding success within the time frame. Friend, anywhere you find yourself, seek harmony.

Psalms 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Psalms 133:2 “It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;”

Psalms 133:3 “As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”

In Psalms 133, King David shows us that, the end result of unity is God’s commanded blessing. Success always follow unity. Make oneness your watch word.
