Nehemiah 2:17 “Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.”
Nehemiah 2:18 “Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said Let us rise up and build So they strengthened their hands for this good work.”
Beloved, when God saw the devastation he spoke words, almost equivalent to our prayers and confession of faith, He then rolled up His sleeves and got down to work!
When God rested on the seventh day, what do you think He rested from?
Friend, our world was actually well measured out, foundations firmly put in place and everything well-constructed. God didn’t just inspect the ruins like Nehemiah, He got down to work.
Friend, you must get to work on your life. There is God’s part and your own part as well. If you will not work nothing will work in your life. I know you’ve fasted, prayed, did faith confession and also physical inspection but I want you to know that until Nehemiah stood up and began to build, the ruins remained.
James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
Your act of faith must be backed up with corresponding actions. There must be something you can do. Don’t let the enemy keep things out of place in your life.
I once heard a lady who has grown very fat tell friends that she has a tendency to grow fat. This is somebody that should rise up and begin to do proper exercise.
Beloved, rise up, write and submit that job application. Pay for that course. Start that business. Talk to that lady you have been praying about. Start that prayer group. Start writing that book.
The required work for the manifestation of our dreams is our responsibility and we must put away every sluggishness, procrastination and laziness.
Enough of watching the ruins, rise up and do the needful!
