RISE UP-1

RISE UP-1
Nehemiah 2:17 “Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.”

Nehemiah 2:18 “Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said Let us rise up and build So they strengthened their hands for this good work.”

Nehemiah finally arrived at Jerusalem. The first thing he did was to go round the city to see the extent of damage. He went round the whole city and saw the level of devastation.

Everything that could go wrong had literally gone wrong and the situation was bad. However, he did his survey well and had his plan set out. When he was done, he spoke to the people and they agreed to do the most important thing, RISE UP AND WORK!

One thing most people refused to do is to rise up and do something about their lives. Many people knew that something is not right about their lives, some even go round it like Nehemiah but refused to rise and do something about it.

Beloved, the elders and the men of Jerusalem has been living in the town that was ruined and devastated but they never thought of doing something about it. The perverse and broken down nature of their city has become their new normal.

These men have found a way to live with the anomaly. They were satisfied with the new status quo. Ruin has become something they have come to accept as normal.

Beloved, don’t ever let abnormality become your new normal. Whatever has gone wrong in your life must be corrected. Ruin is not what God wants for our life.

Matthew 15:13 “But he answered and said Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted shall be rooted up”

Whatever God has not planted in our lives must be removed.
