TAKE YOUR PLACE-1
1 Samuel 11:12 “And the people said unto Samuel, Who [is] he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.”

1 Samuel 11:14 “Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.”

1Samuel 11:15 “And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.”

In the last couple of meditations, almost six weeks now, we have been studying the story of Saul. We started by saying one of the key things we wanted looking at, is how Saul eventually became acceptable as king.

We discovered that after he was ordained and anointed king, most people in Israel didn’t like his choice and will not cooperate with him.

1 Samuel 10:24 “And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted and said God save the king.”

1 Samuel 10:27 “But the children of Belial said How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace”

Beloved, it is not enough for you to mount a throne, get a raise or promotion; you must be able to demonstrate capacity and capability in that office. There will always be people like the children of Belial who will not believe in you until you proof your competency.

I have since discovered that when God want to lift a man, he can pick him from anywhere and promote him, not because the man is qualified but because God knows he can grow and occupy the space.

God doesn’t just pick a man and install him on the throne because of what he has today but rather because of what he has the capacity to become. That is why all through scriptures, you’ll see that most of the people God chooses always feels inadequate.

Look at men like Moses, Joshua, Saul, David, Solomon, Paul and the other Apostles. People even called the Apostles unlearned or illiterate yet God chose them.
