1Samuel 11:10 “sent word to Nahash: “Tomorrow we’ll give ourselves up. You can deal with us on your terms.””

1Samuel 11:11 “Long before dawn the next day, Saul had strategically placed his army in three groups. At first light they broke into the enemy camp and slaughtered Ammonites until noon. Those who were left ran for their lives, scattering every which way.” (MSG)

…From yesterday…

The death of Jesus was God’s master plan and strategy against the enemy. All along, the scheme of God was to put the sin of the whole world on sinless Jesus, so that he can die on the cross, go down to hell, combat the devil, collect the keys of hell and hades and return power to the believer.

But, unfortunately, the devil thought killing Jesus was a great plan, he was ignorant of God’s strategy!

That was God’s grand scheme but unfortunately the devil didn’t understand it. All what the devil was after was how to kill Jesus. He felt once he kills him that marks the end.

In Bible history, everyone that was born in power and glory, the devil always set about killing them, he started with Abel, then all the children born in the era of Moses, the prophets up on till the time of Jesus, thinking death was the ultimate.

Finally, when he succeeded in murdering Jesus, he felt he had won; in strategic warfare it is called stooping low to conquer. Saul and his men used that successfully against Nahash and his army.

In our focal scripture, they sent message to Nahash that they were coming to him and that he should do whatever he deems fit with them. They said he can deal with them on his own terms.

Bible history told us that they actually sent messages to Nahash that they were coming to surrender and on hearing that, Nahash and his men relaxed then partied all night.

They were so sure the children of Israel were coming to them crawling by morning. They couldn’t wait till morning to begin the celebration, well, I guess they celebrated too soon.
