1Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.”

…From yesterday…

When the men of Jabeshgilead went to Nahash to cut a covenant he was quick to tell them to submit their right eyes.

When the Bible makes reference to the right eye, right hand, right side and so on, it is talking about the most important things in our lives. The word right as used here means; stronger, more dexterous, most important, the main and the exceptional.

Beloved, you need to sit down and make a list of the most important things in your life because those are the real or “right” things the enemy is after. If you don’t know them you will lose them.

Esau didn’t know the birthright was the most important thing to him as a first born son in Israel and he lost it for a plate of food. Judas Iscariot didn’t know a life time relationship with Jesus is far more important than a bribe to betray him.

You must know your values in life and defend them with everything in you.

Another thing I want to draw our attention to are the tools the enemy uses to terminate a man’s vision. The devil doesn’t just come to remove a man’s right eye, he subtly uses certain tools. Let’s take a look at some of them:

  1. FEAR AND INTIMIDATION: In the case of Nahash and the men of Jabeshgilead, he used intimidation and fear. The enemy besieged their city and flashed different weapons of war at them which got them afraid. Beloved, don’t bow to fear. Nothing is as scary as it first appears. You must know this and never forget it.
  2. SUBSTITUTE VISION: Another weapon the enemy uses is a substitute or replica vision. This was what the enemy used for Apostle Paul. Be careful of replacing your “right” vision with the “left”. All along, Paul thought he was “working for God” until he had a personal encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.

To be continued…
