1Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.”
The devil, was ready to cut a deal with the men of Jabeshgilead as long as they will submit their vision and sight to him. Once he achieves that, he will then force them to serve him. When the devil steals a man’s vision, he gives him another vision that makes him his slave.
The aim of the devil is always to terminate a man’s God given vision and replace it with his own. If you submit your vision to the devil, you will serve him.
The Bible is full of tales of men and women who submitted their “eyes” or visions to the devil. Do you remember the first thing they did to Samson when he was captured?
Judges 16:21 “But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.”
The first thing they did to him was to remove his vision (eyes) and made him to start serving them. The strategy of the enemy has not changed, he is after our vision.
The vision of a man is an encapsulation of the seed for his glorious future, which is why you must do everything in your power to know your vision and defend it!
In the Bible, the devil hijacked the right eye of the great Apostle Paul and for many years he was blindly serving the devil. His God given vision was to spread the gospel to the gentiles but as a young man, he was busy killing the very people he was sent to save.
When the men of Jabeshgilead went to Nahash to cut a covenant, he was quick to tell them to submit their right eyes.
When the Bible makes reference to the right eye, right hand, right side and so on, it is talking about the most important things in our lives.
