NAHASH-2

NAHASH-2
1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”

…From yesterday…

Friend, perhaps you have been anointed and ordained for a particular task and assignment but you’re feeling jittery and inadequate, you’re not alone, it has happened to several people but they got past their fears and became great.

How did Saul overcome his initial fears? He became acceptable when he conquered Nahash! Who is Nahash?

Nahash is an enemy. He represents an obstacle, a challenge or contrary situation that confronts a man, not to destroy him but rather to bring out the fight in him; give him his throne with honour and dignity.

The Bible says in our focal scripture that Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabeshgilead.

To encamp means to be positioned against. A synonym of the word encamp is besiege. It means to surround a place, stronghold or city with an army in order to bring about its surrender or capture. It also means to harass somebody, something or organization with insistent demands or complaints in order to force it to do a particular thing which he will not do normally.

This is an old military strategy put in place to force a surrender. Presently our world is under a siege from the COVID-19 pandemic. This virus has forced several towns and cities into a lockdown.

Many economies have been grounded; education, businesses and other activities have become stalled due to this pandemic. The world is under siege and we must understand what the enemy is doing.

We must all rise up and fight back in prayers, fasting and confession of the word. God want “Sauls” to arise and take their places in destiny. The siege is broken in Jesus name!

Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped or besiege Jabeshgilead.

The word Nahash is a Hebrew word which means; “serpent”, “to charm”, “to cast a magic spell” or to “hiss”. While the word Ammonite means “to flock” or “troop”!
