FORGIVENESS-1
Mark 2:5 “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

This man was sick of the palsy and paralyzed such that he couldn’t move. He was carried by four men to Jesus; these folks even had to bring down the roof all in an attempt to get him healed.

I am sure they must have seen Jesus healing different sick people by laying on of hands, praying for them, casting out demons and the likes so they were probably expecting similar moves. But, to their amazement and that of others there as well, Jesus simply said, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

I am sure they might have even shouted from the roof, telling Jesus that this is not a matter of forgiveness; rather, lay hands on him, pray for him, cast out the spirit of paralysis or command strength into his body.

Friend, the man didn’t need all those gymnastics, all he needed was forgiveness! Hear me today; the most powerful need of mankind is forgiveness. The issue between man and God has been the problem of sin.

Sin introduced sickness, afflictions and death right from the Garden of Eden. This has badly severed the relationship between man and his Maker. Everything God started doing from Genesis to Revelation was trying to solve this menace. As a matter of fact He had to leave heaven to come down to die so that this issue can be laid to rest once and for all.

Where am I going with all these? Beloved, the first kind of forgiveness we all need is from sin that leads to Hell. That is why accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ is none negotiable. If you’ve not received this kind of forgiveness, you might be jumping up and down physically but spiritually you’re suffering from palsy.

It doesn’t matter how active you are physically, as long as you’re grounded in the spirit, it’s just a matter of time before it shows in the physical and worse of all, you’re on an express road to Hell.
