Mark 2:2 “A crowd gathered, jamming the entrance so no one could get in or out. He was teaching the Word.”(MSG)

Permit me to quickly show you another set of people in the story of the man with the palsy, I call them the door blockers.

I love reading my Bible with imagination as the Holy Spirit expounds it to me. I believe that before these four guys decided to climb the roof of the house and started breaking it down in order to get their friend in, they must have made several attempts to pass through the door but the people blocking the entrance refused to give way.

They saw them carrying their friends on a make-shift and hastily constructed stretcher but yet they refuse to give way. Those are the people we refer to as door blockers.

These people just jammed the door and refuse to give way. Some of them blocked the door not because of anything major but just because they see no reason why you should be the one with the access.

We meet them everyday in life and our ability to deal decisively and creatively with them determines if we will get in or stay out. It doesn’t matter what you do they will show up. Their intention is to block the door to your miracles.

Let me show you a door blocker that wanted stopping Paul and Barnabas:

Acts 13:6 “And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:”

Acts 13:7 “Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.”

Acts 13:6 “But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.”

Sergius Paulus was the vice president of a country and he sent for Barnabas and Paul himself, to hear the word of God. He wanted having what they have to offer but then there was a door blocker on the way.

To be continued…
