HUNGER FOR THE WORD-1
Mark 2:2 “And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.”

Mark 2:2 “A crowd gathered, jamming the entrance so no one could get in or out. He was teaching the Word.”(MSG)

Hardly had Jesus entered Capernaum and the house before the whole place became jam packed. It was such a gridlock that people couldn’t come in nor go out.

The interesting how ever was that these folks didn’t gather just for the fun of it, they gathered because of the Word. They came to that place to listen to the preaching of the word. They came together because of Jesus who himself is the very word of God!

Friend, why do you go to church? What is your motive each time you have an opportunity to be in church, or your local assembly? Where do you think your miracle is going to come from?

I want you to note these three things about the word of God:

1. Jesus is the Word made manifest:
   John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Everywhere and every time the word of God is being taught, Jesus is being brought into the scene.

2. Without the word nothing can be done:

John 15:3 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Don’t hang around people or places where they want to give you something other than the word of God because without the Word nothing can be done!

3. The Word of God is the healing power of God:

Luke 5:17 “And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”
