MERCY-1
Mark 2:1 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.”

Our focal scripture started by telling us something very interesting about Jesus. We noticed that he had left the City of Capernaum for some time but on this particular day, he returned.

He may have returned quietly but the good news was that, it was noised round the whole town that he had returned. There were many people in that town that wished he had been around and had longed to see him, but on this very day they heard the good news of his return or arrival back in that city.

When you read further, you’ll notice that hardly had he settled in before the multitude gathered, giving credence to the fact that they had been enthusiastically waiting for him.

This city was called Capernaum. The Greek word translated Capernaum means “village of comfort” or “place of mercy”. In other words, Jesus came to the place of comfort, easiness, mercy, favour and clemency.

He had travelled to different places but finally came to this beautiful place. Capernaum was a flourishing city of Galilee in their days, it had lots of merchants and prosperous people.

I guess the question in your heart is; What has this got to do with me?

In our focal scripture, immediately it was noised about that Jesus had entered the city of comfort and mercy, people started gathering to receive from him. Put differently, that day became the day of comfort and mercy for the inhabitants of that land.

My assignment this morning is simple. I want you to know that today is your own day for the Capernaum experience. In order words, it is your appointment with comfort and mercy!

Hear this:

Psalms 102:13 “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

Psalms 102:13 “You’ll get up from your throne and help Zion – it’s time for compassionate help.” (MSG)

I have simply come to “noise” it to you that today is your own time of favour!
