UNDER THEIR NOSES-1
Luke 14:3 “And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?”

Luke 14:4 “And they held their peace And he took him, and healed him, and let him go”

While Jesus went to eat at the chief Pharisee’s house, he had company of men around him. We know that the watchers were there, as well as the lawyers and other Pharisees. Most of these folks were there to stop him.

They even try to intimidate him into abandoning his quest to give that man his miracles but right under their noses, he took the man and healed him! They wanted him to follow protocol and obey the law of the Sabbath but he didn’t bulge.

Their stirring eyes, intimidating looks, murmurs and protest didn’t stop the dropsy man from getting healed. Despite the opposition, Jesus went ahead and blessed the man.

The phrase “under their nose” is an idiom that means, “something that happens or done boldly in your presence and in an obvious or audacious way but such that you cannot prevent”.

Beloved, I am glad to let you know that Jesus doesn’t need the permission of men to bless you. He doesn’t need to go and consult the lawyers and Pharisees before releasing your miracle. Aren’t you glad you have him as Lord?

Our Master care less about the body language and disposition of men towards you. He will never allow their protocols and resistance to stop him. He will bless you whether they like it or not.

They may murmur and complain all they like, it doesn’t move heaven one bit. When you call upon God, he responds without delay. I want to believe that some of those present watching Jesus knew the pains the man was in but they wanted Jesus to follow protocol.

If Jesus had not done that miracle on that faithful day, that man would have continued in pain but he was unperturbed with their grumblings. He healed the man all the same.

Friend, let them gang up and plot, it will come to nothing. Their schemes against you will not see the light of day.
