Luke 14:1 “IT OCCURRED one Sabbath, when [Jesus] went for a meal at the house of one of the ruling Pharisees, that they were [engaged in] watching Him [closely].” (AMP)

Luke 14:1 “One time when Jesus went for a Sabbath meal with one of the top leaders of the Pharisees, all the guests had their eyes on him, watching his every move.” (MSG)

…From yesterday…

A typical case was what the children of Israel did when they wanted to attack Jericho:

Joshua 2:1 “And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.”

By the time Israel finally came against Jericho, they already know where the palace is, where the soldiers are, where the treasures are and so on. This made it very easy for them to dislodge the inhabitants of Jericho.

The main mission of the watchers is to know your weaknesses and strength in order to carve out a plan to defeat you. It is an old military strategy that is still very potent physically and in the realm of the spirit.

My spiritual father said, ”If the devil tries but couldn’t succeed in stopping you, he will join you”. You cannot live your life to chance, you must be conscious of who and who is coming around you. You must be able to pick genuine friends from watchers. You must be able to know men in the spirit.

Thieves don’t break into empty houses, they use watchers to gather information before striking and remember; the devil is described as a thief:

John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill and to destroy…”

Thieves do their reconnaissance or surveillance before striking a house. The devil sure knows how to use this method to great effect. Hear this:

Psalms 56:6 “They gather themselves together they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.”

Psalms 56:6 “They gather in hiding places and watch everything I do, hoping to kill me.” (GNB)
