DESTROYING THE SOURCE-1
Joshua 3:16 “That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.”

I love the way God solves problems, he is very strategic in his approach to matters. God doesn’t destroy the leaves or branches of a tree, he kills it from the root.

To every problem in the life of a man, there is a root cause. Things don’t just happen, they’re caused. Challenges don’t just show up, they’re orchestrated. Plots don’t take place without a conspiracy.

The good news however is that, God created all things, so he knows their origin! He knows situations and challenges of life atom by atom. He knows what is feeding the problem and making it grow. There is no tree without a root. No wonder the Bible says:

Matthew 3:10 “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

God can scan every grain of sand and get to the root of every matter under the earth. He knows how to lay the axe at the root and hewn it down.

In our focal scripture, Jordan parted but what God did was very interesting. Rather than sit and start draining Jordan, he went for its jugular. The very source of the strength of that river.

If you study that scripture carefully, you’ll notice it was not the River Jordan that was confronting them, Jordan was just a front!

The Israelites were actually being confronted by “waters from above” and the “salt sea”!

Friend, you need to look beyond the Jordan facing you, you need prophetic insight to locate it’s source. Once you get to the root of the matter, the problem disipates.

I have discovered that many believers have been busy draining the “Jordan” of their lives. Many have even employed family, friends, colleagues even pastors and prayer warriors to help drain their Jordan rather than stopping the flow from the waters above and salt sea.
