Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

…From yesterday…

The meditation process might look complex to you but the truth is that you know it so well, we all do! It is a process we’ve unconsciously mastered right from when we were young, for instance, you begin to have some strange feelings in your body and you were asked to go for a medical test. Chances are very high that you’ll get afraid. Where did the fear come from?

You’ve probably seen or read about somebody with similar symptoms who later died. Those symptoms naturally invoked that memory, you then begin to imagine it on your body; you start to talk to yourself silently that it’s probably the same disease. Before long you start to complain to others, and most likely you’ll end up with the same sickness, meditation process completed.

The same thing happens with different other fears that affects us. A strange sound at night could trigger tremendous fear based on some movies you’ve seen.

The issue is that we’ve unconsciously meditated on so many ungodly stuff that are now controlling our lives. The social media have also not helped in this regard. We see and read all manner of stories that have polluted our imagination.

God knew that the tendencies are high that Joshua have gathered so many bad memories from the way Moses was treated by the Israelites in the wilderness and was afraid too, so He gave him the antidote to that fear.

God attacked the wrong images in his heart by asking him to replace them with images from His Word and then start thinking on those words. Remember that words create pictures in our minds.

Beloved, until we learn to replace our bad memories with meditation on the Word of God, good success will remain a mirage.

Meditate on the Word; study how David defeated Goliath, how Hannah broke the backbone of barrenness.
