Joshua 1:5 “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

…From yesterday…

Psalms 114:4 “The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.”

Several years after the Israelites arrived in Canaan, King David decided to do a research, the result of which he clearly documented for us.

He went down memory lane and began asking some questions. He discovered that when Israel was on their way to the Promised Land. Certain elements confronted them but failed. He first noticed that the sea saw them and fled, the river Jordan also sighted them and was driven back.

Not only that, mountains skipped like rams before them and the little hills in the wilderness also skipped like lambs.

So, out of curiosity, he approached them to find out why:

Psalms 114:5 “What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?”

Psalms 114:6 “Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?”

He wanted to know why they all took off when they saw Israel coming. To the amazement of this king, the elements came together and gave him a mind blowing answer. Hear them:

Psalms 114:7 “Tremble, thou earth, at THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, at the PRESENCE OF THE GOD OF JACOB;”

Psalms 114:8 “Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.”

They were simply telling David that it is not those seemingly weak and frail men who scared them and made them run for cover but rather the aura of the Presence of the Almighty God that was with them!

That confirms what God did for Moses and equally promised Joshua to do. Like we said earlier, situations and contrary circumstances of life may not like you. They may even wish to stop and frustrate you but one thing they cannot resist is the very Personality of God that is with you!

To be continued…
