Joshua 1:5 “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
The greatest confidence a believer should have is that God is with him. The greatest advantage we have is not our connection, strength, wisdom, intelligence, skills et al, but the fact that the Greatest Force known in heaven and on earth resides with us and in us.
God told Joshua that the only reason why Moses seems so invincible and powerful was for that same reason and as He will do same for him. He told him that no man will be able to stand before him for this same reason.
Friend, I want you to know that if God said that to Joshua, He is saying same to you and I. The greatest assurance we have is that what he says to one, He is saying to all!
Mark 13:37 “And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
In the journey of the new year, will men rise against you? Yes, they will. Will there be challenges and unpleasant situations? Yes, there will.
Will there be contrary situations and circumstances? Yes, there will be. Will there be rivers to cross? Yes, there will.
The walls of Jericho might even try to stop you but let this truth be registered in your heart: “…I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Joshua 1:5).
The problem is not the enormity of the challenges confronting you but rather the personality that is with you. If that personality is God, you can go to sleep with both eyes closed! The problems of life don’t respect mere mortals, but there is an immortal force they cannot withstand. Hear this:
Psalms 114:1 “When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;”
Psalms 114:2 “Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.”
Psalms 114:3 “The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.”
