Esther 4:15 “Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,”

Esther 4:16 “Go gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish I perish”

2. ESTHER ASKED FOR STRATEGY
Esther 5:4 “And Esther answered If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.”

Esther 5:5 “Then the king said Cause Haman to make haste that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared”

Esther 5:6 “And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed”

Esther invited the king and Haman (her sworn enemy) to a banquet! I felt that was a very “foolish” thing to do. Somebody want to kill you and the best you could do was to invite them to a party.

Who does that? A woman of strategy of course.

In the kings palace, they had the council of chiefs, if she had raised the issue before them they might have defended Haman. So, she isolated him and her strategy worked perfectly.

Friend, don’t just rush to battle. You need a strategy for war. Don’t engage the enemy blindly, don’t even act in anger. Take time to pray and ask God for a plan. Joshua wanted to bring down the wall of Jericho; it seemed an impossible task until he met with the God of strategy.

Rather than looking for bombs and other weapons of war, God simply told him to march round it and indeed the walls came down!

The reason you’ve been losing is not far-fetched, even though you’re a born winner, you rely too much on your own intelligence rather than asking God for a winning formula!

Pray like Esther, ask for the strategy!
