Esther 5:2 “And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near and touched the top of the sceptre.”

Esther 9:32 “Esther’s word confirmed the tradition of Purim and was written in the book.”(MSG)

Esther gave an order that the Purim must become a tradition and that it should be documented.

The Purim is a remembrance holiday set aside till this day by the Jewish people to commemorate the day Esther saved them from the fangs and evil plots of Haman. But, much more than that, it is a remembrance that points us to the fact that as long as we keep hope alive, we can turn any situation around.

The Bible is a book of records that attest to this truth. We have several amazing stories of total turn around when it seems all hope was lost. Esther went on a three day fast, prayed and then confront the “impossible” situation. The Purim is a remembrance that if we do same we can turn our own situations around as well.

David kept hope alive as a seventeen year old boy and confronted Goliath, he had a landslide victory. King Jehoshaphat was confronted by three powerful nations and others, he kept hope alive and came out tops.

The three Hebrew boys; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego kept hope alive, went into the lake of fire and came out unhurt. Daniel kept hope alive, went into the lion’s den and came out unhurt.

Caleb kept hope alive for forty years. He didn’t die and couldn’t be killed neither did his strength wane till he conquered his territory (Joshua 14:6-11).

Jesus Christ came; kept hope alive, went to the cross, died and was buried. He didn’t remain in the grave, he arose and he’s alive forever more.

A wise man said, “There are no hopeless situations in life, only men who think hopelessly”. Don’t give up, keep hope alive!
