Esther 2:12 “Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)”

Esther’s rag to riches story is something we all love and cherish; but the things that went on behind the scene must equally be desired and cherished alongside.

That lady didn’t just arrive on the throne, she was trained, polished and carefully prepared for her place in destiny. There is no rising without adequate training and preparation.

To qualify for the throne, there must be a twelve-month preparation procedure divided into two parts. The first was purification and treatment with oil of myrrh and the second was purification with sweet odours. Why these two treatments?

Myrrh was used for the purification and treatment of these women because of its inherent qualities. This substance is used for curing all manner of skin diseases and removing wrinkles apart from other uses.

Beloved, before you can qualify for the throne, you need some treatments! Many people desire to rise in life but they have accumulated so much dirt and “diseases” on their journeys’ that will make such difficult. Some have been hurt and battered in life and they’re holding tenaciously to those past wrongs and it is pulling them back.

Some have cultivated some very bad habits that left them with so much “wrinkles” and bad smells. If you are not purified and properly treated, it will become impossible for you to qualify to dine with the king. Hear this:

Ephesians 5:27 “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

Ephesians 5:27 “Christ did this, so that he would have a glorious and holy church, without faults or spots or wrinkles or any other flaws.”

To be continued…
