BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE
Esther 2:7 “And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.”

We discussed earlier that the word “beautiful” as used in Esther 2:7 from the Hebrew is translated as; “supernatural vision”, “of a higher nature”, “valuable in estimation”, “benefit”, “rich”, “appropriate” and “moral beauty or good”.

One of the translations that really caught my attention is “moral beauty or good”. Esther was not just physically beautiful and attractive she was equally beautiful in character. Esther was morally upright.

Moral beauty or good is about solid godly principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviours. Esther was balanced in character and godliness. She was not puffed up by reason of her beauty.

Biblical morality talks about godly philosophies and code of conducts as stated in the word of God. I have met men and women whom God divinely endowed with graces but whose moral standards are very poor. Some are promiscuous, others rude, insulative and cruel.

Friend, men like Samson, Judas Iscariot, Solomon and even Moses had moral challenges that didn’t allow them experience the fullness of the expressions of the grace and anointing upon their lives. You must never allow yourself to end up like them.

We must all strike a balance between grace and character. Hear this:

Colossians 3:5 “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry” (NIV)

Paul admonished us here that we should “kill” every immoral act that can disqualify us in the place of destiny. Your character can either be a fragrance or an odour. It can either endear you to people or repel people from you.

The position of a queen in the kingdom of King Ahasuerus wouldn’t have been vacant but for the indiscretion of Queen Vashti. She became puffed up; forgetting completely she was queen only because there is a king.

Friend, Esther was beautiful inside out; watch out for those things that can disqualify you, selah!
