Esther 2:19 “And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the king’s gate.”

…From yesterday…

I love making reference to what Daniel did for his friends:

Daniel 2:49 “Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.”

Daniel and his friends got promoted after solving problems for the king of Babylon. It was a wonderful feat but after the whole celebration, while others returned to their duty posts, Daniel went back to man the gate.

The gate is the place of prayer. It is where you open portals for the divine to intervene in the affairs of mortals. When you leave it unguarded, strange forces can take it over and manipulate things against you.

Hear this:

Esther 2:21 “In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.”

Esther 2:22 “And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name.”

Esther 2:23 “And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.”

In the above scriptures, while Mordecai was manning the gate, a battle ensued. It was the battle for the life of the king. The enemy wanted to murder the king. Put differently, the devil wanted to kill the destiny helper of Esther and prevent her from becoming the queen but Mordecai stopped them.

Beloved, the gate is the place where plots and conspiracies are made but glory be to God it is equally a place of victory. The gatekeeper helps to secure the people inside. Mordecai foiled the plot; the king was saved and Esther became queen!

The father sat at the gate for Esther and she won in life and destiny, who is sitting at your gate?
