NOT FATHERLESS-1

NOT FATHERLESS-1
Esther 2:7 “And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.”

Over the next couple of meditations we will be considering the life of Esther. We will carefully scrutinize her story and pick as much lessons as possible.

Esther was a Jewish heroine whose story keeps baffling many, several generations after. This lady came from a very humble background but rose to become one of the most powerful women that ever lived. A comprehensive x-ray of her life sure shows that, it doesn’t matter how low you may start up in life, you can end up among the greats.

This lady was an orphan and could have died as a nobody but for certain qualities that began to show up in her life. Those qualities will form the basis of our discussion in this meditation.

Those qualities helped Esther to charm the great King Xerxes so much that after deposing his prior queen, he could have chosen any woman he wanted but he chose Esther.

The first thing that Esther leveraged on to rise to the top is what I call fathering. The concept of fathering has been bastardized so much in our generation that many have come to hate it. However, it is a key component in the rising and falling of men.

Many great destinies could have been nurtured to maturity but for the absence of a father. The concept of fathering is also referred to in some quarters as mentorship. Whichever terminology you use, you must understand and maximize it.

Though Esther became orphaned due to no fault of hers she never allowed herself to be fatherless! Friend, the loss of a physical father should not make you fatherless in life.

My spiritual father said, “You can be fatherless by force due to the death, absence or irresponsibility of a biological father but to remain “fatherless” in life is a choice”.

To be continued…
