BORROWING MINDSET

BORROWING MINDSET
Proverbs 22:7 “The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender”

When you’re broke and need money urgently, what readily comes to your mind as a way out? If your first instinct is who to go borrow from, you have a poverty mindset.

A poor man has a borrower’s mentality. He is always thinking of a quick fix. He keeps borrowing from one person to the other until he runs out of options. Poverty and indebtedness operate like Siamese twins, you hardly find one without the other.

Our focal scripture clearly shows us that a borrower will always be a servant to the lender. He will not just be a servant, he will be embarrassed often as well. There is no virtue in borrowing and you must get rid of that mentality.

In God’s design, you are not meant to be a borrower, it should be you doing the lending. Hear Him:

Deuteronomy 28:12 “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow”

Our God is the all sufficient one, He doesn’t just expect us to lend to others; He expects us to be wealthy enough to give out loans to nations! You might find it difficult to believe but the truth of the scripture cannot be broken. God always backs up His claims. He always stand on the side of whosoever dares to believe Him.

Borrowing mentality is something you must discard in order to step into the provisions and possibilities of God for you. Develop the habit of the one that gives out not the one that is always looking out for handouts.

Be creative in your thinking, develop a supply and surplus mindset. Make up your mind to be a lender. Once you have this mental shift, you’ll be surprised at how your financial fortune will change.

Beloved, believe and constantly recite Deuteronomy 28:12 and watch it become your new reality!
