Proverbs 22:2 “The rich and poor meet together the LORD is the maker of them all.”

If you watch most of the movies we have around, the rich man is most times portrayed as a heartless, unkind, ill-mannered fellow while the poor man is shown as descent, kind and well behaved. In most of those movies you’ll discover that for the poor man to “suddenly” come into wealth, he’ll have to join a cult, kill or do other demonic things.

Friend, all these are demonic strategies carefully designed by the devil to keep men poor. The enemy is so smart and has been playing these poverty mind games for long. May you receive an understanding of true wealth via this meditation in Jesus name.

The first thing I want you to know and believe is that: The rich and the poor are equals because GOD made them both! (Proverbs 22:2 MSG). This shows that God made a man and the man decides to be rich or poor.

The devil didn’t create the rich man while God created the poor! It is only God that creates, but the man He creates have a choice to decide the outcome of his life. God doesn’t detest wealth, He is a wealthy God. He is the great custodian of riches!

What makes a man rich or poor are the consistent thoughts and choices he makes, but the irony of it is that God Almighty will respect that choice!

So, what makes a man poor? What distinguishes the rich from the poor?

The fundamental thing that makes a man poor are his thoughts. A wealthy man’s thoughts are quite different from that of a poor man.

Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”

Proverbs 23:7 “…What he thinks is what he really is.” (MSG)

We are simply products of our thoughts! What you think, you are!

So, what are these negative thought patterns and habits that impoverishes a man?
