RICH VERSUS POOR-1
Proverbs 22:2 “The rich and poor meet together the LORD is the maker of them all.”

Proverbs 22:2 “The rich and the poor shake hands as equals– GOD made them both!” (MSG)

In this meditation we are going to be studying the characteristics of the rich and the poor. We will take a deep look at the poor, probing into their character and understanding why they’re poor.

Sometimes back the Holy Spirit laid on my heart to do this study and He showed me some very interesting stuff. We will examine these traits and amend our ways accordingly.

Our focal scripture showed us something I find rather abysmal. This is different from the orientation most of us grew up with. I might attack your theology a bit but please stay with me.

Many of us grew up with the mindset that the rich and wealthy are despicable, dishonest and devilish. In several cultures many have been made to hate the rich and try never to become one. Once you see a very wealthy fellow the first thought is that he is not clean and something is fishy about his wealth. That is the orientation of the average human being.

A statistics I once saw, showed that about ninety seven percent of the wealth in our world is in the hands of the remaining three percent. This has been found to be true to a large extent. So, many believe that before you can join that league you must soil your hands.

However, I want to submit to you that such a mindset is a fallacy that has been carefully designed by the devil to keep men poor and force them to approach him for wealth.

If you watch most of the movies we have around, the rich man is most times portrayed as a heartless, unkind, ill-mannered fellow while the poor man is shown as descent, kind and well behaved. In most of those movies you’ll discover that for the poor man to “suddenly” come into wealth, he’ll have to join a cult, kill or do other demonic thing.
