Judges 11:5 “And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:”

Judges 11:6 “And they said unto Jephthah, Come and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.”

Beloved, in life and destiny, may you have grace to be relevant. They sent Jephthah out but in the process of time he became relevant. His significance showed up.

I want you to know that you are not useless and can never be. There is an investment of heaven upon your life which has made you needed on earth. Your ability to identify, develop and deploy it determines what comes to you in life.

By design, you are a solution carrier, loaded with problem solving abilities. You didn’t just show up on earth, you were released by heaven to meet a particular need.

When battle came up against the children of Israel, the Bible said, “…the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:” The Bible called them “elders” because indeed they were wise enough to identify the man for the job.

They didn’t just go to seek help from Jephthah, they offered him a leadership position: “And they said unto Jephthah, Come and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.” (Judges 11:6)

There are several wisdom we can borrow from here.

One, make yourself relevant. Develop your problem solving abilities and let men know it. If you become a man or woman of significance, sons of men will not be able to ignore you.

Beloved, when you develop your potentials, people will recognize it and consult you. Let’s look at this episode:

Act 9:37 “And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.”

Act 9:38 “And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.”
