Judges 11:4 “And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.”

Judges 11:5 “And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:”

…From yesterday…

Friend, in the same process of time, the children of Ammon were busy preparing for war and strategizing on how to attack and defeat Israel. The enemy does not sleep, he keeps going to and fro getting ready to strike.

The question is this: when the enemy finally shows up, will you be ready and prepared for his onslaught? What is your attitude towards training?

The truth is this: opportunities will always show up later in the future whether you’re prepared or not. I’m sure if you think back you’ll realize that you’ve missed several opportunities not because they didn’t come but because you were not prepared for them.

Jephthah invested both in himself and in the vain men around him and even though they didn’t have the best of resources they managed to become an all-conquering military squad.

A Bible scholar once noted that they operated like the legendary Robin Hood. Even without all the powerful conventional weapons of war, they became consultant to nations in the art of war.

Training is key to breakthrough. Preparation is the vehicle that will drive you to the land of fulfilment. It is the bridge between your desires and results.

You don’t win Olympic races by just wishing, you roll up your sleeves and do all the necessary workouts and practices. Behind the emergence of every champion lies secret preparations. Before you admire the prize of a champion find out the prices he paid. Stardom comes at a cost.

I want you to know that it is only prepared folks that get lucky, never forget that! Don’t show up at the place of manifestation unprepared. Jephthah could have died in exile but his training made men took note of him. Preparation announces a man and introduce him to the palace.

May you never miss your throne due to unpreparedness in Jesus name.
