VAIN MEN-1
Judges 11:3 “Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.”

What I am about to share with you is the reason why several men and women fail in life and destiny. This is the reason why several people will never excel.

Here is the gist; God never gives finished products! He always gives raw stuff and expects you to work on it and turn it to finished products. He doesn’t just give harvest, he gives seed and expects fruits and harvests from us.

When Jephthah got to Tob; the good land with good people, the people that came around him first were Vain men!

Judges 11:3 “Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob. There he attracted a group of WORTHLESS men, and they went around with him.” (GNB)

Judges 11:3 “So Jephthah went in flight from his brothers and was living in the land of Tob, where a number of GOOD-FOR-NOTHING men, joining Jephthah, went out with him on his undertakings.” (BBE)

Judges 11:3 “So Jephthah fled from his brothers and went to live in the land of Tob. Some RIFF-RAFF joined him and went around with him.” (MSG)

These word “Vain men” is depicted as worthless, empty, riff-raff and good-for-nothing. This is the point where several people fail. Everybody loves finished products but God’s system works with “riff-raffs”, permit me to say that!

Let me break it down; you wanted ten thousand dollars to start a business and all you could raise was five hundred dollars. You needed a five bedroom apartment and all you got was a single room self-contained in a general compound.

You wanted a car but got a motor cycle. You wanted a large expanse of land but got a small plot, about one tenth of the one you envisioned. You thought they’ll employ you as a manager but was told the only available job was that of a messenger!

I have a news for you; you just met your Vain men!
