Judges 16:21 “But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.”
When the Philistines got hold of Samson, the first thing they did was to remove his eyes. They know that when he loses his sight he becomes ordinary. He will not be able to pursue divine agenda again.
Beloved, that is usually the strategy of the enemy. One thing the devil is after in our lives is our vision or purpose. Once he can shift our gaze from our assignment, he knows our destiny will be wasted.
The devil is not busy running around looking for eyes to remove physically, he is simply going about stealing dreams, visions and shifting the attention of men from their God given assignments.
Think about it, when you were much younger, you had dreams to conquer the world, conquer other planets, become a high flyer and so on but now that you’re old, why are you not living that dream?
The answer is simple; the devil has “removed your eyes” somewhere along the way. Many even boast of the course they will study in the University, only for them to either drop out of school completely or study something else that is not related.
You might be pitying Samson today but I want you to sit back and give your life and destiny a hard thought. Ask yourself thought provoking questions, such as: Am I where I’m supposed to be? Is this what I set out to do and become? Is my original vision still my priority? Am I sure my eyes are still intact?
A visionless man is worse than a physically challenged man. When you don’t know where you’re going every road seems right to you.
A vision is your God given assignment that propels you onward in life. It is a compelling force that motivates a man and makes him unstoppable.
If you’re on earth you must be able to make a categorical statement about your life. Hear this:
