Judges 16:20 “And she said The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.”

The story of Samson is very pathetic. Not many people have the privilege of getting the kind of notification his parents had before his birth. It was an angel that came and announced his birth.

Judges 13:5 “For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”

What more would a man want heaven to do and contribute into his life that this young man didn’t have? He grew up knowing and operating in the power and the glory of God. He went out each day with the assurance that heaven is backing him up.

He demonstrated grace and anointing in proportions the world has never seen. He was an epitome of the might of heaven. He was a force that could not be suppressed or repressed. Each day he goes out, he was a walking manifestation of divinity.

That was the experience of Samson until that faithful day! The Bible says; “…He woke up, thinking, “I’ll go out, like always, and shake free.” He didn’t realize that GOD had abandoned him.” (Judges 16:20 (MSG))

Samson thought it was business as usual not realizing that the glory had departed and he has become weak, like any other man (Judges 16:17). He didn’t know he has backslidden so badly and the devil has taken control of the reigns of his life.

What baffled me was that Samson just went out casually thinking he will just shake his body and his head and the seven locks of hair will stand again and he will manifest the power of God.

Samson had become so familiar with the hair on his head that he didn’t know he was now shaven!
