Judges 16:19 “And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.”

Judges 16:20 “And she said The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.”

Shaving a man is draining him of every spiritual power, virtue and consecration. When you sleep on strange pillows, you end up with a “shaved head”.

In the realm of the spirit, the hair on the head represents the glory of God, divine covering and authority.

1Corinthians 11:15 “But if a woman have long hair it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.”

The Delilah spirit came against Samson and drained him of the glory and covering of God. Spirits works and walk in gangs, once the Delilah spirit seduced Brother Samson, he became empty and naked.

Delilah made sure he became susceptible to demonic attacks. Some people are sick today simply because they’ve been made naked somewhere along their journeys in life. Don’t dine with the devil, he sure knows how to pitch a man against God.

Note carefully that they couldn’t shave the head of Samson until they first made him sleep.

Sleep is spiritual slumbering. Hear this:

Matthew 13:25 “But while men slept his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way”

Spiritual sleep is a moment when you suspend or stay away from spiritual activities that strengthens you. It is that moment when you decided to miss that all important service. It is that day you were too busy and in so much hurry that you couldn’t knee to say a word of prayer before leaving home.

It is that day you decided you needed rest from Bible studies, meditation and prayer meeting. Let me show you one man:
