LORD OF THE PHILISTINES-1
Judges 16:18 “And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.”

I want you to know that the Delilah spirit is not an end in itself, it is a means to an end. One of the greatest undoing of Samson was the fact that he thought he was dealing with Delilah. Little did he realize it was not all about Delilah, the real enemy was behind the scene.

The real battle was not with Delilah, it was with a set of dangerous folks called the lords of the Philistines! Delilah was just a camouflage fronting for the lords of the Philistines.

The word “lords of the Philistines” as used here means a wicked ruler or a tyrant. That is, a despot; a ruler who governs unjustly, cruelly, or harshly.

Friend, behind every subtle temptation or attack on your life, is a tyrant. Many times we focus so much on Delilah not realizing this truth. Of a truth you might be able to handle Delilah but what about her sponsors?

Let me break it down for you:

Genesis 4:6 “Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?”

Genesis 4:7 “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.””(NIV)

Beloved, Cain didn’t just wake up one day and killed his brother. There was a process involved. In the above passage, God showed us how it happened. It all started from envy, then anger which eventually culminated in murder.

All along, Cain thought he was dealing with envy and anger but it was actually murder that was the enemy behind the scene. If only he had known that murder was the one sending envy and anger on errand, he might have been more careful.
