DEATH IN THE MOUTH-2

DEATH IN THE MOUTH-2
Judges 16:16 “And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death”

…From yesterday…

Delilah invoked the power of repetition in words and Samson’s heart couldn’t take it, the Bible says “…his soul was vexed unto death”. The best remedy is to quickly stop hearing the negative words and replace it with faith based ones.

If you keep hearing that you can’t, definitely you won’t. Words can build barriers between where we are and where we needed to be. They can also become bridges that can take us there.

The skilful use of the tongue with wisdom determines the cause of our lives. The devil is a strategic fighter and he understands how to use the weapon of the tongue against men but many people are ignorant of this fact.

Let us consider these scriptures:

Proverbs 18:21 “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit–you choose.” (MSG)

Proverbs 18:22 “Find a good spouse, you find a good life– and even more: the favor of GOD!”(MSG)

We normally use those scriptures in isolation but they are very well connected! Solomon said words kill and words give life but in the very next verse he spoke about marriage.

In order words, since you know that words can kill or give life, then you must find the right spouse that will be speaking right words into your life or else you can die like Samson! For some people it might not be a spouse, it could be a friend, a close colleague or other acquaintances.

The most important thing is to run away from persistently hearing negative words. If words destroyed “powerful” Samson, you and I must tread with caution.

Solomon knew better and he further advised:

Proverbs 2:16 “To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;”

May the Lord deliver us from the stranger that flatters with words, with the intention to vex our soul unto death in Jesus name. It’s high time you rise up and condemn every tongue that rise against you in judgement (Isaiah 54:17)!
