Judges 16:6 “And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.”

Judges 16:7 “And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried then shall I be weak and be as another man.”

…From yesterday…

The devil is very good at the game of life and death; more experienced than humans. I’m sure he was happy when Samson decided to play games with him.

I kept wondering what Samson was thinking of, because each time he told Delilah his supposed secret she goes to bring the lords of the Philistines. Hear this:

Judges 16:8 “Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.”

Judges 16:9 “Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.”

Judges 16:10 “And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.”

On three different occasions he told her lies and she always try out what Samson said. Her attempts to try to weaken Samson on each of those occasions should have served enough notice to him but he just couldn’t see.

Friend, I don’t know how many times you’ve escaped from the traps of the enemy but it’s high time you stop the game of death. It is said that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

Samson was toying with Delilah and the game of death eventually consumed him. Hear this:

1Thessalonians 5:22 “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”

Friend, you don’t handle temptation, you don’t romance it neither do you give it a thought, you simply flee from it.

Don’t assist the devil, resist him!
