2Samuel 23:15 “And David longed and said Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”
I want us to take note of something interesting from our focal scripture; David said, “…Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem…”
He had a desire and wish someone would fulfil it. Although he had a host of soldiers with him, he did not mention any names. He just wished one of them would get him the water from Bethlehem.
He didn’t make reference to any of them in particular but these three soldiers jump at the opportunity and seized the moment.
Friend, the things that make people great in life always show up in form of opportunities. Most times no name is attached to a task; that is why many people dodge it. You must become a man or woman who knows how to sieze moments.
When we get to heaven, we will not be able to accuse God of not making us rich, great, prosperous, blessed, healthy, skillful and so on. How do I know this?
Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned and saw under the sun that— The race [is] not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But TIME and CHANCE happen to them all.”
When you try to accuse Him of not been fair, He’ll quickly show you the above scripture in Ecclesiastes! It doesn’t matter who you are, while on this side of eternity, under the sun, you will always have your own time and chance.
These combination will always show up for you and what you decided to do with them will determine the outcome of your life. God will make sure time and chance show up for you but will not force you to use them.
What you decided to do with them is entirely in your hands. I’ve seen men waste time and chance and I’ve probably squandered some myself but that is not God’s fault.
God is ever faithful and committed to our wellbeing but He’ll never force anything on us. Hear this:
