2Samuel 23:11 “And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.”

2Samuel 23:12 “But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.”

Ephesians 2:6 “Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.” (MSG)

Friend, you may be here physically, but you don’t belong here. Where you’re seated is far beyond the attacks of men and devils. You are a “mountaineer”, you are above and dwell above! Your location is too high for any Philistine.

I love the way the Message translation explained Ephesians 2:6, it shows that Christ came down, picked us up and set us upon the highest heaven in company with himself.

Jesus knew that until we rise higher within, in our spirit man, we will not rise without. The reason why you still get scared of the devil and his cohorts is because you feel they’re higher than you.

Beloved, once you’re born again, you’ve stepped up. You step into the zone of God. You become a dweller of the heavenly. The Philistines attacked Shammah and it was unfortunate for them because they attempted to fight a man that is far higher than them!

When a man is far higher than you, you don’t fight them you respect them! When you fight a man from far above, you lose by far! It was indeed a bad day of defeat for the folks that attacked Shammah.

These three forces were active and at work in the life of every believer that knows who he is in Christ!

I believe that Shammah knew these truths about himself that was why he stayed and fought. He knew that “Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite” simply means “A BURNING WONDER UPON THE MOUNTAIN”.

Friend, know that about yourself and defend your field! Go display wonders to your world!
