DEFEND YOUR GROUND-2
2Samuel 23:11 “And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.”
2Samuel 23:12 “But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.”
Ephesians 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
You must also have your heart covered with the breastplate of righteousness. You must be upright in all that you do. You must be morally upright and honourable in all your dealings.
Joseph was morally upright and he defeated the devil that came in the form of Potiphar’s wife. Samson on the other hand fell in the hand of Delilah when he forgot his breastplate! Righteousness is a defense for your heart.
Your feet must also be ever ready to talk about salvation to others. Hear this:
Ephesians 6:15 “Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.” (CEV)
You must be ever ready to tell others about the saving grace and power of Jesus. Peace must also be your watch word. When you always talk about salvation and peace to others, they’ll watch what they say around you. The moment people know you’re a believer, they watch their steps and utterances around you.
Another defense mechanism is faith. It is a shield which can cover every other exposed part of your body. You must develop your faith muscle on daily basis. Every time the devil see you with the shield of faith, he knows that fiery darts of fear can’t touch you. You can never have too much faith.
After putting on every other attire, the one that holds everything together is the belt of truth. If you put on all attires without a belt, you’ll still look shabby and improperly dressed. Truth is a defensive weapon that keeps everything in place.
