Mark 10:52 “And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way thy faith hath made thee whole And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.”

Bartimaeus finally got healed by receiving his sight but what he did next was very interesting. The Bible says, “…he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.”

Many people come to Jesus just to get healed and go their own way. They use the Saviour as a “good luck charm”. Once they get what they want they behave as if they were not helped. They hold unto the gift, completely neglecting the Giver!

Beloved, be smart like Bartimaeus, when you get your miracle and you stay with the Miracle Worker, you’ll never run short of miracles again. Bartimaeus could have gone back to his father’s house and start life all over again but he chose to follow Jesus.

Bartimaeus has been blind for some time but his encounter with Jesus broke the yoke of blindness over his life. Blindness connotes that he has been without vision, mission and goals in life. He was just living life and doing his own thing.

What he received that day was not just the use of his eyes, he got a vision for his life. Bartimaeus became aware of himself and found a new purpose for living.

The safest place to be is by the Master’s side. Following Jesus means you’re in God’s perfect will for your life, perhaps the reason why he was blind in the first place was because he left Jesus’ side. Hear this:

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Jesus is the way and there is no way you’ll follow the way and miss your way! Whatever you want in life has a pathway to it; be it health, miracle, breakthrough, wisdom, victory, wealth and so on and that pathway is the person of Christ.

I believe Bartimaeus just reasoned that if Jesus can restore his sight then he can help him get whatever he wanted in life, how true that is!

Beloved, just follow the way!
